EBNA IgG = Negative: Results would indicate recent infection with Epstein-Barr virus.


VCA IgG = Positive,

VCA IgM = Negative, and

EBNA IgG = Positive: Results would indicate past infection with Epstein-Barr virus.


VCA IgG = Positive,

VCA IgM = Negative, and

EBNA IgG = Negative: Indeterminate, result might indicate recent infection with Epstein-Barr virus. Time of infection cannot be definitively determined in absence of EBNA IgG.


VCA IgG =Negative,

VCA IgM = Positive, and

EBNA IgG = Negative: Indeterminate, result might indicate recent infection with Epstein-Barr virus. Time of infection cannot be definitively determined in absence of EBNA IgG.
