Specimen Requirements
Specimen Type: Blood
Container/Tube: Tiger top, serum gel
Also Acceptable: Green top (Lithium Heparin)
Specimen Volume: Full tube, submit 1.0 mL serum/plasma
Specimen Minimum Volume: 0.1 mL
Collection Instructions:
1. Send specimen in original tube. Serum or plasma may be used.
2. If there is a delay in transport of >1 hour, centrifuge tube.
3. Refrigerated samples are stable for 4 hours.
4. Hemolyzed Samples are rejected.
Specimen Transport Temperature
Refrigerated samples can be used up to 4 hours.
