Specimen Requirements

Specimen Type: Urine
Container/Tube: Plastic Container
Specimen Volume: 20 ml; submit  12.0 mL urine
Specimen Minimum Volume: 1.0 mL
Collection Instructions:
1. Send specimen in a sterile plastic container with lid securely attached.
2. Place patient label on container, not on lid.
3. No preservative. Refrigerate specimen after collection.

4. Specimens left at Room Temperature for more than 1 hour maybe rejected.
5. Urine samples are stable for 24 hours at 2 – 8º C.
